Open call for sponsors - IGDA-Austin Picnic
The fifth annual summer picnic organized by IGDA-Austin is a little over a month away, and our leadership is working hard to plan as much great stuff into the event as we can manage.
And it'll be a great show, like it has been for the past four years, out on Richard Garriott's property on the edge of Lake Austin. With all the organization we can muster in our spare time, and a lot of volunteer help, it's going to be fun for all ages, adults included!
This is what it looked like last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6PMJClOJvE
So that's happening again, no matter what. Tickets will be going on sale on austingamedevs.org Real Soon Now.
We could use more sponsors, though.
The picnic has a lot of up-front costs that we need to get lined up in advance. Available funds tend to dictate some of the plans we'd like to make. And, because this is the chapter's primary fundraising event for the year, we'd like to plan to come out ahead, for the sake of other things we want to do in 2011.
So, to everyone who represents an individual or organization that would like to put their branding in front of about 800 people, the majority of whom will be professionals involved generally with digital art, production and entertainment that most certainly includes video games, We Want To Hear From You.
I have a one-page PDF available to anyone who wants information about what that all entails. We have several sponsorship packages available, varying by dollar range and branding opportunity.
Would you like to hang a banner near the stage where we'll have live music?
Or by the tent where we serve beer?
Or the chow line, where everyone gets barbecue?
We have plans for all of that. We have a few already. We could use a few more.
Some of you, we've probably asked already. Please treat this as a friendly reminder that We Really Could Use Your Help!
Anyone who directly represents someone in a position to be a sponsor, please contact me and I will provide the sponsorship packages. Anyone who knows someone who might want to be a sponsor, please have them contact Picnic Poo Bah Mr. Mike McShaffry at email@example.com or myself, in reply to this message on Facebook or drop a mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks so much, and see you at Richard's, real soon!
