Infinite Resolution Zero Latency recap video now live!
The Texas Advanced Computing Center approached IGDA-Austin for help with what they were calling a "games night" to be held at their visualization lab on the UT-Austin campus back in January. We helped choose the games to be showcased, booked all the speakers that weren't UT faculty or provided by event sponsors, prescribed a format for the speakers to follow to make best use of the time, made the contact with SXSW Interactive Screenburn and tapped our friends at Funky Rustic to provide ambient music. The staff handled the rest. And there was a lot to handle! They called it Infinite Resolution Zero Latency.
Here's a video about what it all looked like. On the same Youtube channel are videos of each of the "lightning round" speakers, including Greg Zeschuk, Mike McShaffry, Dan Teasdale, Dan Magaha, Jon Jones, UT profs Bruce Pennycook and Don Fussell, John McDonald from Nvidia and Lenard Swain from Dell/Alienware, Karen Ngo from SXSW and TACC director Jay Boisseau. Thanks to Sean Cunningham for producing the video!
Thanks to Rob Turknett, Kelly Gaither, Brandt Westing, Karla Vega, Paul Navratil, Freddy Rojas, Valerie Alvarez, Hedda Prochaska, Alison Warner, Faith Singer-Villalobos, Sarah Abraham and the rest of the TACC staff. Thanks to Bryon Lloyd for helping coordinate IGDA-Austin's role in the event, and Dan Reese and Brecken Chase Hipp for helping out at the door.
This was a grand experiment for our chapter in how to cooperate with another Austin agency looking to reach out and bring game developers together. Much fun was had by all.
